How to Use the AI Song Cover Generator

Start with a recording you created or have permission to adapt. The AI song cover generator uses that audio as a musical reference while your lyrics and style description guide the new version. You can work directly in the browser; you do not need a microphone setup, mixing software, or production experience.

Upload Your Song

Choose an MP3, WAV, or M4A file up to 20 MB and eight minutes long. A clear recording gives the model a more useful reference than a clip buried under background noise. Listen to the source preview before continuing, and replace the file if you picked the wrong take.

Cover mode starts with an audio upload; Create mode starts with an idea instead. Keep a local copy of the source recording so you can compare versions later. Use audio you are allowed to adapt; provider checks may reject a request, and acceptance is not a license.

Choose What to Change (Lyrics or Style)

Select a model and describe the sound you want. A working title is created automatically from your source audio. For a lyric rewrite, enter your new words in the Lyrics field. Section labels such as [Verse] and [Chorus] can help communicate the arrangement. Keep the line lengths close to the source phrasing when possible.

For a genre change, describe instruments, rhythm, mood, and vocals: for example, acoustic guitar, brushed drums, and a relaxed vocal. Add the original lyrics if you want to retain the words. Leaving lyrics blank lets the model write from your style description.

Generate the Cover

Sign in and check the credit cost shown on the Generate cover button before submitting. The current V6 cover options each use four credits per request. Once submission is confirmed, you’ll go directly to My Creations to follow progress instead of repeatedly starting new jobs.

Generation time depends on the provider and its queue. If a submission cannot be confirmed, check its status before trying again. A confirmed rejection leaves you on this form with an error; copyright rejection is not a reason to bypass the check.

Preview and Download

When the covers are ready in My Creations, play the returned tracks and compare them with your source. Check the lyrics, pronunciation, melody, and transitions before choosing a version. The number of returned tracks depends on the provider response.

Use the available download control to save a track, or find it again in My Creations. Download anything you want to keep before its storage period expires. If a phrase sounds wrong, revise that lyric or the style description and generate another version, allowing for another credit charge.

Two Modes: Change the Lyrics, or Change the Genre

These are two ways to use the same cover form, not separate switches. Choose the change that matters most, then use the Lyrics and Description fields to describe it. “Same melody” is a creative goal, not a guarantee: the model can reinterpret notes, timing, vocals, and arrangement in either workflow.

Mode 1 — New Lyrics, Same Melody

Use this approach when the tune is the reference but the story needs new words. You might turn your own demo into a birthday message, rewrite a chorus for a different audience, or adapt a song into another language. Upload the source and enter the replacement lyrics rather than asking the style field to supply the entire rewrite.

A melody leaves only so much room for each line. Count the rough syllables in the original phrase, notice where the strong beats fall, and write a replacement that fits that space. A short name can often fit more naturally than a long sentence. For a chorus, keep repeated lines consistent so the model has a clear structure to follow.

Keep your style description close to the source if your priority is recognition. Changing the words, tempo, instrumentation, and mood at once makes it harder to tell which choice caused an unwanted result. After generation, listen for missing words, stretched vowels, and altered phrases. Edit a crowded line before trying again. This is a generated performance, not a precise vocal replacement or an audio editor that locks every original note in place.

Mode 2 — New Style, Same Song

Use a style change to explore how the same musical idea might feel in a different arrangement. A guitar demo could become a piano ballad; a bright pop song could become a slower jazz interpretation. Describe the destination sound with a few concrete choices instead of stacking unrelated genre names. “Warm electric piano, upright bass, brushed drums, intimate vocals” gives more direction than “make it better.”

If you want the words to stay, put the original lyrics in the Lyrics field and review them before submitting. Copy them from your own notes and check the verse and chorus order. A local audio upload does not automatically transcribe the recording into that field. Leaving it empty may produce new lyrics, so it is not a reliable way to request a style-only change.

Turn off Include vocals to request an instrumental version. Advanced options let you describe styles to avoid, but they do not provide fine-grained control over individual instruments or exact vocal delivery. Compare the result with the source for the musical features you care about. If strict melody preservation, an identical singer, or a note-for-note arrangement is essential, this workflow may not meet that requirement.

What You Can Make With It

An AI cover is useful when you already have a musical starting point and want to hear another version. These ideas work best with your own songs, licensed material, or recordings you have permission to adapt. They are creative examples, not assurances that every request will be accepted or that its output can be commercially released.

Parody and Playful Rewrites

Rewrite your own lyrics around a joke, an everyday mishap, or a fictional character. Let the punchline land at the end of a phrase rather than cramming it into every line. Calling something a parody does not automatically settle copyright questions; check the rights that apply before uploading someone else's work or publishing the result.

Birthday Songs and Personal Messages

Turn an original chorus into a birthday greeting with a name, a shared memory, and a simple repeated wish. Choose a mood that suits the recipient, such as a gentle acoustic arrangement or upbeat pop. Preview the pronunciation of names and any personal details. Keep private information out of lyrics you plan to share publicly.

Lyrics in Another Language

Enter an adapted translation to explore a song in another language. Literal translation can create lines that are too long to sing comfortably, so preserve the meaning while adjusting syllables and stress. Review pronunciation and meaning with someone who knows the language. The generator is not a substitute for translation review or permission to adapt the original lyrics.

Genre Experiments

Try a different musical setting for a song you know well: acoustic instead of electronic, jazz instead of pop, or orchestral instead of a sparse demo. Keep the lyrics stable while comparing arrangements. Change one main direction between attempts so you can judge its effect. A genre label guides the model but does not specify an exact arrangement.

Tribute Versions and Demo Alternatives

Make a respectful reinterpretation of material you are allowed to use, or explore alternate versions of your own unfinished song. Describe musical qualities rather than implying a real performer recorded it. Label AI-generated versions honestly when sharing them. A tribute is not a rights exemption, and this form does not offer a dedicated singer-cloning control.

AI Song Cover Generator — FAQ

What is an AI song cover? Is it an album cover image?

Here, cover means a new audio performance or reinterpretation of a song, not an album artwork image. The generator takes a source recording plus your lyrics and style instructions. It does not provide a dedicated control for cloning a specific singer's voice.

Can I change the lyrics without changing the melody?

You can use the original audio as a reference and supply new lyrics. Keeping similar syllable counts and a style close to the source may help, but the model can change melody, timing, or phrasing. Exact preservation is not guaranteed.

How do I change only the genre?

Describe the new genre and arrangement in Description, then enter the original lyrics if you want the words retained. Review the lyrics before submitting. Leaving lyrics blank can produce new words; the output is still a reinterpretation, not an exact remix of the original recording.

Is the AI song cover generator free?

Eligible free-plan accounts receive 4 credits once per UTC day under the current free-credit rules. A current V6 cover request costs 4 credits. Sign in and check your available balance and the button's cost. This is credit-limited access, not unlimited free generation; additional use may require purchased credits or a subscription.

Which audio formats and lengths can I upload?

Upload MP3, WAV or M4A files up to 20 MB and eight minutes long. Both limits apply. The size limit is not a fixed amount used per song; smaller files use only their actual size. Uploaded originals are currently temporary processing files, not a reusable audio library. Subscription original-audio saving is not available yet.

Can I upload a copyrighted song or a streaming link?

Use recordings and lyrics you created or have permission to adapt. Buying or streaming a song does not by itself grant adaptation rights. This form accepts local audio files, not arbitrary streaming links. There is no copyright confirmation checkbox; provider checks may reject a request. Acceptance does not establish ownership or grant a license. Copyright rejections are not bypassed, and failed generation charges are refunded through the task system.

How long does generation take, and what if it fails?

There is no fixed completion time; it depends on the model, provider, and queue. Follow the pending task rather than submitting duplicates. If a request is confirmed rejected before submission, you can correct it and retry. A failed accepted task is eligible for the automatic credit-refund flow; a lost acknowledgment should be checked before trying again.

Can I download my cover or use it commercially?

Completed covers appear in My Creations. Generated audio is kept for 7 days on Free, 30 on Basic, 180 on Standard or 365 on Pro, based on the plan when generation starts. Download before expiry; credit packs do not extend these periods. Uploaded originals are separate from generated covers. Commercial use also depends on your rights to the input and lyrics, service and provider terms, and applicable law; generating a cover does not grant rights to someone else's recording.
